Flat refurbishment in Kensington
This project, in Kensington, saw us renovate virtually all of this large West London apartment to provide a new home for the family without the hassle of moving.
What our Kensington client wanted
The client wanted to renovate their large Kensington apartment for their family with young children, including new bathrooms and a new kitchen.
Bathroom and kitchen were sourced and organised by the client but fitted and installed by Red Box along side the rest of the renovations. The clients also wanted all new flooring with acoustic underlay – to reduce excess noise throughout the property.
They were referred to Red Box by Roundhouse who custom designed their new kitchen, which we installed and decorated. After looking at other options, the client decided to work with us due to the quote, responsiveness and our ability to work on complicated projects.
They were very precise with their requirements, including requesting a detailed quotation and needed us to source, design and implement their plans based on their guidelines to bring them their dream home.
During the process we provided recommendations and suggestions for electrical suppliers, decorating products and more to help bring the clients vision to light.
Being French Nationals living in London, the clients also wanted to install French Satellite Television connection which we set up along with the rest of the new wiring and electrical aspects of the project.
How we helped the client with their flat refurbishment
To complete this full property renovation, we begun with in January 2019 with the aim to be completed by May, we successfully finished the renovations for the client on time, including fitting and installing their brand new kitchen designed by Roundhouse kitchens & joinery.
The apartment had a number of upgrades during the renovation process including the installation of Schluter underfloor heating throughout the property, new windows by Sash Window Specialist. The modernisation of this flat in Kensington also included a series of smart home upgrades, including smart technology in the kitchen (smart oven), installation of underfloor heating, NEST smart thermostat.
One of the challenges we faced with the project was being a 6th floor flat was the movement of suppliers and waste to and from the property with minimal mess and disruption to the other building residents and avoiding damaging the buildings hallways and lift. Communication was vital to project manage and coordinate with multiple suppliers and team members coming and going at the right times to complete the project.
What we created for our client
Red Box successfully completed the full renovations of this Kensington 6 th floor flat to our client’s specifications on time and in budget. The clients, who work in property development have continued to work with Red Box on existing and new projects after being delighted with the work we provided for their family home.
All wood flooring was replaced, soundproof underlay and underfloor heating was installed, and tiled floors were fitted throughout to create a new home feel without the need to move.
